Boonsboro Middle School presentation

We were invited again this year, (for the fourth year in a row) to go into Boonsboro, MD Middle School to talk with the seventh grade students about our military experience and the affects of PTS.  We chose to not call it PTSD because it is not a Disorder, it is an injury as a result of exposure to trauma.   The students read a story called "A Soldier's heart" which is about a soldier in the civil war that is struggling with PTS, which at that time, was called "A soldier's heart."  There was time allotted at the end of the presentation for the students to be allowed to ask questions.  All of the students were very respectful and asking great, relative questions.  We look forward to continuing this effort to bring awareness of the struggles and recovery that Veterans deal with and bring to light, the epidemic suicide rate among the Veteran community.
