Vietnam Veteran and faithful member Mike Fasulo lost his battle with cancer. He is greatly missed.10/12/2020 Michael Anthony “Mike” Fasulo, 75, of Sharpsburg, MD passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at Inova Fairfax Hospital, Falls Church, VA.
He was born on September 29, 1944 in Washington, DC to the late John Anthony and Eunice Grace Garrett Fasulo. Mike was a graduate of Albert Einstein High School in Kensington, MD. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War. He was of the Catholic faith. Mike was a member of the East Coast Comet Club and an active member of the “Come All Who Are Thirsty Veterans Group.” He previously belonged to various car clubs. Throughout his life, he was actively involved in many motorsports. Mike’s passion and profession was auto mechanics. He also was passionate about helping others, spending time at the beach and spending time with his entire family. Mike was a true patriot. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Godwin Fasulo, whom he married April 3, 1971; daughter, Amy M. Fasulo-Morey and her husband, Randy, of Sharpsburg; daughter, Karen M. Poffenberger and her husband, Brian, of Sharpsburg; daughter, Linda T. Fasulo-Whitmore and her husband, Josh, of Rohrersville, MD; daughter, Laura C. Thomas and her husband, Mark, of Boonsboro, MD; sister, Jan Fasulo Smith of Leesburg, FL; grandchildren, Anastasia Martinez, Cayla Morey, Savanna Morey, Cole Palmer, Riley Palmer, Kendall Poffenberger, Bella Poffenberger and Michael Thomas; great-grandchildren, Jaykob, Kennedy, Alaska and Laddie; many nieces and nephews; and longtime friend and former son-in-law, Jake Palmer. A Memorial Mass and interment will be announced at a later date.
